I'm A Believer, I Just Need A Cause

I can't believed they fired Professor Trelawney. There seem to be a lot of changes happening under Umbridge's rule and from what I see, it's nothing good. While I was not fond of Divination because it's pointless class, she was still a good teacher.

I received a letter from my mother today. Apparently, she has been owling the resident bitch Professor Umbridge about me trying to snoop. So I got a nice letter about how I need to improve my bad attitude. I, of course, wrote back asking for her to explain what exactly was wrong with my attitude and how she suggested I improve it because I could use a laugh. Don't you just love when parents suggest things like that I know I sure do.

At least classes are going well. It's nice to see fifth year work is so much more interesting.

This summer lasted way to long. I think it's getting longer each year, it's really annoying. But it's over now and school is going to start. I've been looking forward to going back to class since summer started. Of course I'm not looking forward to the O.W.L.'s, those are going to be a pain in my arse.

My mum say's the new professor is going to be a great addition to the school, I have a feeling I'm going to hate her just because of that.

I woke up this morning and found a note next to my bed. Apparently my parents when on a spontaneous vacation, and left me in the care of the house elves. They didn't even bother telling me where they went, they just said they'd floo call me when they get there. Is it bad that I'm trilled to have them gone. And I'm even more thrilled that they trust me enough to leave me in charge of the manor.

They're even left money for me to go to Diagon Alley to get my own supplies. I think when I go, I might pick out a pet as well. I mean, I think it would be nice to have a pet of my own.

Okay, I've been a vegetarian for about a week and I have yet to slip up. I even managed to avoid the pieces of bacon that my dad slipped into my salad, after lecturing me on how it's unnatural to not eat meat. I don't see why people think that. I mean, lots of animals live off just plants and they're perfectly happy. My mum is still trying to find out what boy I'm trying to impress, all while attempting to be subtle. I don't plan to be the one to tell her she's getting her hopes over nothing. I can't wait to get back to school, it's easier to avoid letters than conversations.

Apparently the only reason a bird like me would want to become a vegetarian is to loose weight. I told my mum today that I wanted to be a vegetarian and she just looked at me and said "oh, I was just reading about that diet, what boy are you trying to impress?" And then when I told her it was because I didn't like the idea of eating animals, she started a laughing like I was joking. Honestly, sometimes my parents just make me want to scream.

My parents banned me from reading the Prophet, claiming I am acting like a "silly little commoner" when I may or may not have torn up the paper after reading about what they are doing to Trolls in the mountains of Poland. It's horrible, all the restrictions that are being placed on them. I keep trying to get my hands on a copy, but I have yet to succeed.

Maybe I'll find a reason to sneak out and get a copy, seeing as I'm growing restless in this house. If it's not my father trying to lecture me about the family name, it's my mother telling me I am not acting like a proper lady. If I am stuck here any longer, I will not be responsible to my actions.
